CIAN O DALAIGH AND COREY FAY WIN THE JUNIOR B DUBLIN 60X30 DOUBLES TITLE:

THE LADS BEAT A VERY STRONG PAIR FROM NA FIANNA ALSO  PIERCE CAULFIELD AND NIALL McKENNA IN MOBHI ROAD ON WEDNESDAY 9TH JULY.THE GAME WAS ALWAYS GOING TO BE A CLOSE AFFAIR WITH PIERCE AND NIALL STARTING VERY STRONGLY TAKING THE FIRST GAME 21-9 AND PLAYING SOME GOOD HANDBALL. CIAN AND COREY STARTED SLOWLY AND GOT STRONGER AS THE GAME PROGRESSED AND TOOK THE SECOND GAME 21-6. THEY WENT FROM STRENGTH TO STRENGTH AND FINISHED THE MATCH BY FAR THE STRONGER PAIR WINNING THE DECIDER 21-12. THIS ADDS TO THEIR LEINSTER TITLES IN 40X20 AND 60X30 AND THEY BECOME THE YOUNGEST PAIR TO WIN A JUNIOR B TITLE BY ABOUT 10 YEARS AS FAR AS RECORDS SHOW. THE YOUNGEST WINNER OF A JUNIOR B COUNTY TITLE HERETOFORE WERE AT LEAST IN THEIR 20 S.
THIS IS GREAT LOOKING FORWARD FOR NA FIANNA AS THE LADS ARE MAD FOR HANDBALL AND CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF IT SO
THEY'RE REAPING THE REWARDS OF A LOT OF HOURS SPENT IN THE COURT,ALL THESE LADS ALSO PLAY FOOTBALL AND HURLING SO THEIR REAL ALL-ROUNDERS .

Training Back On:
For all training with Cliona Daly the training is starting back on Friday the 28th of September back in Na Fianna. we hope to see everyone back again!

Ó'Dálaigh And Fay Stun Kilkenny Duo:
Cian Ó'Dálaigh and Corey Fay took a big step towards being the first pair at under 13A from dublin to win a leinster championship since 1977, they are edging towards a great acchievment.

They put up a fabulous display of all the finer skills of handball here in Mobhí Road last Saturday the 8th of September. Their volleying, serving passing shots and digging in deep meant they won rallies they had no right to win, but to be fair they have been training hard for this for the last few weeks, in the alley 2 or 3 times a week, not to mention their own personnel practice of seving by themselves. But all of this payed off last Saturday and hopefully they will do well in the Leinster final on Saturday the 22nd of September in Garyhill (Co Carlow) against either Carlow or Wexford.
This pair however has had a great yearso far already:
-Runners up in the All Ireland Féile Finals
-Winners of the Leinster Under 13B40x20  final

Hopefully they will deliver again!
Dublin Championship Finals:
Cian Ó'Dalaigh and Pierce Caulfield won the under 13 a doubles in St Kevins on Wednesday night, they played a great game of handball, winning the first game 15 nil. Cian served superbly well in the first gme and peirce played great roof shots and passing shots not letting their opponents settle, it was over before their opponents knew it.
The second game was a different game alltogether the boys from brian boru started well and were 10-6 up before Cian and Pierce settled again and cian served to 13 and Pierce served out the game 15-10. The hard work all year payed off there was only going to be one winner.
final score  Na Fianna(Pierce Caulfeild and Cian Ó'Dalaigh): won 15-0,15-10.

Under 13b Doubles Final:
This was won by St Brigids pairing of Oisin Galvin and Colm Hawkes, who defeated the NA Fianna and Portabello pairing of Sean Caverly and Thomas Tully. The first game was a great game, and could have gone either way,  but the Brigids lads won 15-7, but the scores didn't reeflect the game, and it could easily have been 15-14. But the Brigids lads had built confidence from the first game, and won the second game 15-3. Well done to the lads on reaching the final, they have a bright future if they stick at it.

RESULT WAS .OISIN GALVIN AND COLM HAWKS  (ST BRIGIDS) BEAT SEAN CAVERLY AND THOMAS TULLY (NA FIANNA/PORTABELLO)  15-7,15-3.

Féile na nGael:

These young boys and girls keep setting the bar higher and higher.  Every time we think they have hit their limit they astonish us again.  This was their first trip away and the mentors thought the occasion might unsettle them but no way.

The girls had a flying start winning both their first and second matches 2-0.
One point in the third match would ensure a place in the final. They lost the match 2-0 (21-20 in the second game) and so finished level with two other teams. Qualification for the final was decided on aggregate score and they lost out by one ace.  The team from Kells with whom they had drawn in the group stage were decisive winners in the final.  A fine performance all aound and a lot to look forward to.two of our girls are under age again next year as well.

The boys also had a good start drawing 1-1 in their first match and winning the second one 2-0; so qualifying for the final.
The boys played a team from St Melons in the final who had entered division 2 competition and were brought into division 3 because of one team not showing up so we were up against it from the word go.  They lost the final 2-0 but put up a good fight and stamped our mark on Féile.  The team that beat us are all overage to play next year and 3 of our 5 players are underage again next year.

Thanks to all the parents who helped out all year.
Thanks also to Clíona Uí Dhálaigh who organised the gear and banner with Paul Smith and Áine Uí Laoire.
An extra special thanks must go to Dolores who made the sambos and organised all the grub for the kids and mentors over the weekend.  She had ample fruit and drinks to keep the kids hydrated during games and looked after the girls in the hostel. So many thanks Dolores.
