U21 Football

Na Fianna 0-7 Erin's Isle 0-3
What can I say?? The scoreline tells a story in itself. It wasn't a good game, but we won and thats the main thing. I think we need to do a bit of work on the shooting aspect of things. Backs were very solid, but we are going to have to keep it that way from now on.
All Support welcome. Hope to see you all there!!
Unfortunately I write to give bad news this time. We lost to Parnells by two pts last nite in Chanell College. It was a very tight game all the way through. For those who were watching the match, they would have no problem agreeing with me when I say that Daniel Mac Gowan played a blinder!! Other good performances by Tom Kinsella, Ronan O' Hagan, and Anthony Leonard in goal who stopped a couple of sure to be goals going in.. Hard luck to all involved..
Currently undefeated in the League, Na Fianna U21 footballers have had a great start to this year’s campaign and are keeping the DREAM alive by shrugging off opposition left, right and centre. We are down to the Final crunch now after beating Naomh Barrog 3-12 to 0-10.
Na Fianna and Parnells in the Showdown for the Under 21 League. The two teams are unbeaten in the league so far but havn't played each other this year, it will be interesting to see who has more pride in the jersey!! I'll be a little biased and say, if we go out with our guns blazing, nobody could stop us! I'll keep you all updated on when the match is on and where..
All credit to the Lads on the panel for really uping their performances in the match against Naomh Barrog. At half time it was looking close and Barrogs were running at us alot but as soon as the second half got underway, it was plain sailing!! The player that stood out in the game was Stephen Behan who gave the oppositions defence a tough time! We really put the effort in and eased another victory. The next and final game is the test..
With some experienced players and some up and comming stars on the side, I can’t see the team dropping a point in the league. Hopefully we'll go all the way in the Championship too.
Most of you might not know who the captain is so let me enlighten you all. One of the toughest, and I don’t mean roughest, players that I’ve ever played football with is Ronan O’ Hagan. Fair play to the management for picking a Captain who can really turn things around in a match, with his skill and eye for the ball. He is an inspiration to the younger lads on the team and he should be looked up to!! I believe he’s currently in America for the summer so we wish you best of luck over there Hagan Dass!! The lads know your orders from America.......
The two main men, and two very experienced men at that, are John Quinn and Colm O’ Ceallachain who manage this fine team. At the moment the lads are sure to be happy with the performance of their team but will be looking for more of the same from their players for the up and coming games!!
For people who don’t know, the U21 matches are on Monday nights, one week Football, one week Hurling. All support welcome.
Other players that have been influential in getting the team to where they are today are Richie Kinsella, Michael Quinn, Caomhin Quigley and Thomas Kinsella.. but as we all know there is no I in Team!! I’d love to mention all the lads but I’d be here all day….. Good work lads and lets keep it going!!
Wins against Clontarf, Trinity Gaels, Craobh Chiarain, Inishfails and Joseph's have left us in a good position to win this league!!
Thank you for the support on Monday nite when we had a convincing win over Joesph's.. I think the support helped Alan Mc Carthy to use his Fist of God to land the ball in the back of the net!! Also a very good performance by all the backs. It's been a while since only 2 points went by a Na Fianna U21 team in a match!
Also a Big welcome back from all the players to John Quinn, who just got back from his holidays recently.
Please God a couple of trophies will be coming back to Mobhi Rd this year.
Still have other material to put in so don’t stop checking the page!!
